Peter Jones on Paganism in Our Culture

on March 10, 2015

Dr. Peter Jones, author of The Other Worldview (which is being published under our Kirkdale Press imprint), recently spoke at Ligonier?s ?After Darkness, Light: 2015 National Conference.? His topic was paganism in today?s culture:

Many consider paganism a dead religion that was practiced thousands of years ago. However, paganism?s ideas still affect us today. In this session, Dr. Peter Jones describes how paganism continues to be a force in today?s culture. He points out places where pagan thought affects the world?s way of thinking, and he describes how Christians can guard against that influence. He also explains ways that Christians can renew their minds and live as children of God among a twisted generation.

According to Peter Jones, all the religions and philosophies of the world can be divided into two basic worldviews. These two perspectives differ on the fundamental nature of reality. Is everything essentially one? Or does an irreducible distinction exist between creation and Creator?

In The Other Worldview, Jones explains the difference between what he calls ?Oneism? and ?Twoism.? He exposes the pagan roots of Oneism, and he traces its spread and influence throughout Western culture. Most importantly, he shows us why Oneism is incapable of saving anyone or truly changing the world for the better.

The Other Worldview is currently available for pre-order. Secure your order now before the price goes up!
