Lexham Press Announces Publisher Transition

on May 25, 2016

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Lexham Press announced Monday that its founding publisher, John D. Barry, will be focusing full-time on his role as CEO of Jesus’ Economy, a nonprofit dedicated to creating jobs and churches in the developing world. John founded the organization four years ago with his wife, Kalene.

John’s last day at Lexham will be June 10. He will be succeeded by Brannon Ellis, associate publisher of editorial.

Under John’s eight-year tenure, Lexham has matured into a dynamic evangelical publishing house offering innovative biblical, theological, and pastoral resources in print and enhanced digital editions for the Logos Bible Software platform. John launched Bible Study Magazine and served as its editor-in-chief for six years. He is general editor of Lexham Bible Dictionary and Faithlife Study Bible, as well as author of numerous Bible studies and devotionals.

Brannon has worked at Lexham Press since 2014, focusing on developing key products, acquiring authors, and working with John to implement strategic vision. He is a published author with seminary training and a Ph.D. in theology. Prior to joining Lexham, Brannon was project editor for the Reformation Commentary on Scripture at InterVarsity Press, where he served as an academic editor.

Lexham Press is an imprint of Faithlife Corporation, makers of Logos Bible Software. Lexham Press seeks to advance scholarship and equip the church through publishing thoughtful evangelical Bible study materials, scholarly works, pastoral resources, and Bible Study Magazine.
